Elena Gatti

Geburtsjahr: 1950
Geburtsort: Argentina
Elena Gatti received her artistic training at the Bahia Blanca School of Art in Argentina, where she studied from 1968 to 1978. In 1979 she left Argentina for political reasons and then lived and worked in Spain for three years, then as a freelance artist in Germany from 1982 to 1989, until she moved to Mallorca in 1988. Gatti has had numerous, highly successful exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Spain, as well as in Argentina. Elena Gatti is presented by renowned galleries at international art fairs. Gatti says: "The first thing I perceive in a new place is the light, the unmistakable, the specific light that each place has in itself". The nuances of the Mediterranean light are reflected in the colors of her paintings: as in the first rays of the sun in the morning, in the strong midday sun and in the soft evening sun. Gatti's independent painting has a high recognition value. Her special, fresco-like painting of people, still life and things of everyday life is reminiscent of old wall paintings. The transition from the representational to the abstract is always appealing.
